Lauri Tuulberg is a civil engineer and the co-founder and CEO of Welement AS. He holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from Tallinn University of Technology and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Hong Kong. Before founding Welement in 2016, he worked as a site and project manager on both residential and infrastructure projects.
At Welement, he has led the development of automated production and the delivery of timber-frame elements for projects in Scandinavia and Germany. In recent years, his work has increasingly focused on the industrial renovation of buildings and on how standardisation and off-site construction can make the entire building process more efficient.
In addition to leading Welement, Lauri Tuulberg serves on the board of Woodhouse Estonia and on the supervisory board of AS Rand & Tuulberg. His main areas of interest include innovation and productivity in the construction sector, the wider adoption of industrial timber construction, and the relationship between technological change, management, organisational culture and collaboration among different stakeholders.
